New Year, New Nails, New YOU!

This year at Krylik our resolutions are all about achieving our most striking and creative nail looks yet whilst still spreading love for sustainable beauty. That’s why we want to share with you our list of nail care promises we plan to keep over here at Krylik HQ. If you stick with us and make 2022 the year you care for your nails, we guarantee you’ll be flaunting those fingers, all while making a more eco-conscious choice for the planet.

  1. Switch to a more sustainable nail care routine

With Krylik nails on, not only will you be looking good, but you’ll be feeling good too knowing you’re doing your bit to help our planet. A lot of the time it can be hard to know what’s really in the beauty products we use, and the harm they may be doing to our environment. But one thing’s for sure – most false nails are made from plastic. Plastic does not decompose, and if 2021 has taught us anything it’s that it is more important now more than ever to cut down on our plastic usage, and doing just that when it comes to your nail routine is a great place to start. False nails are the biggest single-use plastic item used in the beauty industry. But, never fear! You don’t need to cut stick-on nails from your life to live more eco-consciously; our Krylik nails are 100% plant based, making them the world’s first completely sustainable and plastic-free nail. This year, ditch the pointless plastic and embrace a more sustainable nail care routine by incorporating Krylik into your look.

  1. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

It’s well known that winter leaves our hands looking and feeling a little worse for wear. Cold temperatures, indoor heating, and harsh weather can all leave our hands cracked and dry. This year, we’re vowing to give the skin on our hands as much attention as we give to the skin on our face, and we challenge you to do the same! We’re adding a hand exfoliator to our daily routine, and not leaving the house without our trusty moisturiser. Where we go – it goes! And of course, it’s important to give your nails the same level of care. The damage caused to nails by the winter is often less noticeable, but they do become more prone to breaking from a lack of moisture. A great way to combat this is to invest in a 2-in-1 hand moisturiser for skin and nails, and remember – you can never use too much cuticle oil! All those Christmas manicures take their toll, so remember to always remove falsies properly to protect your natural nails.

  1. Supplement for strength

If your nails need a little extra TLC after the festive period, one way to make sure they’re in tip-top shape for whatever the new year has to throw at you is to check your diet, and add supplements to make sure your body is getting all the nutrients it needs to maintain healthy nails. This year we’ll be adding a biotin containing supplement to our diet, to achieve the long, strong and smooth nails we all want so badly. One too many consecutive manicures we can leave us with dry and brittle natural nails, and ensuring our body has all the minerals it needs is the best way to combat this. Eating a healthy and varied diet is one of the best things you can do to keep your nails in their best condition. B vitamins, iron and calcium are all especially important for nail growth. We’ll be cosying up under a blanket with a lentil and vegetable stew – warming us against the cold January frost, and giving our bodies all the vital nutrients it needs to keep our nails strong and heathy. Sounds like a win-win, right!?

  1. Kick those bad habits

If there’s one resolution you should to make to yourself this year it’s this – fight the urge to peel off your nail polish! This goes for nail-biting and picking too. We all know how tempting it is to chip away at your polish whist watching the TV or during a slow day at the office, but it’s one of the most damaging things you can do for your nails. That’s why this year we’re dedicated to sticking to our own directions on how to properly remove false nails at home (just look at our how-to guide on our website), and kick any bad habits once and for all!

  1. Get creative with your nail art

We all know that 2021 has been a challenging year for us all. If you’re someone who sticks to the same style, shape or colour of nail, we think 2022 is the year to inject a bit of excitement back into the world, and where better to start than with some out-there nail art!? Mix things up by opting for a bold colour you wouldn’t normally wear, or try out a funky new shape. And don’t limit yourself to oval, square or pointed – check out our 3D designs here at Krylik for inspiration on how to really think outside of the box with your nails this year.
